There is no Bond film that I truly dislike. In trying to be as objective as I possibly can, the lowest I have given to a Bond film is 7/10. While the highest is 10/10. 7/10 is respectable .... However, relatively speaking there are a few Bond films that have gone down while some have come up
I spent most of the 80s and early 90s in the boarding school so mostly saw Bond films on video during vacations (the collection at home included YOLT, TMWTGG, etc.) or when shown in school on weekend movie night (AVTAK to LTK). That makes GE the first Bond film that I saw in cinemas .... Like most of you, I have all the Bond films in my personal collection now
Currently, below are the films that have moved a lot in the ranking:
UP
* DN, FRWL and OHMSS - All of them are in my top 3. They are different Bond films (or slightly different than the regular ones) and may be that could be one of the reasons why I love them more
* LALD and OP - Subjectively, they can be in my top 5. Objectively in top 10. Both of these films are very good after multiple repeated viewings. Earlier I used to be a little critical of elements (or laughable concepts) such as voodoo, Bond in gorilla/clown/etc suit, Tarzan yell, etc. but now they don't bother me .... In fact, I like the voodoo elements in LALD which gives the film an unique feel. The score in both these films is memorable as well and so are the villains as a group. The films have that adventure feel to them as well
* DAF - Rated it low esp. due to the 2nd half. Always liked the first half. After watching SP, I realized that so many films have taken elements from DAF including the rat scene, moon buggy sequence redone in the PTS of AVTAK, the pipe sequence in TWINE, The Ford Mustang stunt in OP and LTK, the influence of the film on how Bond was played in the 70s, etc. I also enjoy SC's unique performance. In the PTS, when you hear "Where is he", you know you are in for an exciting ride. And the score is just brilliant
* TWINE - Usually found it boring. However recently I decided to give it a look again. And I liked it. In fact, it is one of those Bond films that you have to been in the right mood to watch
DOWN
* GE - First film that I watched in the cinemas. In 2016, looks cartoonist and extremely silly. And dull. From may be a top 10 film, this one is now my lowest ranked film. I can probably write essays on how bad this film appears now
* SF - Again was a top 10 but now in the bottom 10
In fact, the recent releases could be temporarily high due to the new factor. But after multiple viewing, they could go down. Which again strengthens the power to keep holding your attention of the older films .... Other films are more or less where I expect them to be
My 9/10 and higher films include - DN, FRWL, GF, TB, OHMSS, LALD, TSWLM, OP and TLD. The last 9/10 or higher film is TLD so I am still waiting for a Bond film of that level
